MADNESS

Oh Lord,
I fear the unbelievable stupidity all around me,
and the overwhelming insanity deep within me.
I've seen all that's worldly,
and heard both sides to every story.
Must we be so self-absorbed?
Won't you please absolve me of the mindless abhor?
Nothing and no one can erase this world's horrendous impression.
Nor can we escape our own absurd obsessions.
Lord, surely you are weary of such nonsense.
Lord, I do believe I've slipped into the madness.
